OOC: Or what have you gotten yourself into
The Gray Wolf Battalion: Cast out from the Pack.
Many times during the course of Inner Sphere history have warriors run afoul of politicians and lost everything because of it. The Draconis Combine has more than it's share of these warriors, but most chose to take a traditional response to their condition. Others are forced into a slightly less traditional position and must deal because of it.
Noriyuki Sawabe is one such individual. Sawabe was a Kashira in the 24th Galedon Regulars before he crossed paths with a member of a rival clan. That person, Tai-I Jackson Po, managed to foist most of his shortcomings during the Clan Invasion on Noriyuki. Fortune was with Noriyuki, nothing was such that it required his seppuku...or ritual suicide. The charges were serious enough to scuttle Noriyuki's career in the DCMS however.
There were few options left to the Draconis noble that seemed worthwhile. Noriyuki thought that the best one was to go to Solaris VII as a gladiator. Once there, Noriyuki found that the arena style combat did not appeal to his sense of honor and that he desired true combat, on a real battlefield.
The young Kuritan gathered like minded ronin and gladiators to his banner and formed a small mercenary unit and began undertaking raids against Clan Smoke Jaguar. Due to their proximity to the Skye Rebellion, the fledgling unit was attached to MacLeod's Highlanders as they were assigned to crush the Glengarry rebellion. Although the Gray Wolf Battalion's participation was less than successful, the battalion earned several tokens of appreciation from the Gray Death Legion. The Gray Wolves returned to raiding the Clans with a mixed success record.
Officers:
Major Noriyuki Sawabe has learned many skills in order to run his unit, the most important of which is delegation. Sawabe now has skilled people running those departments where he does not have a full grasp and the unit is better for it. Noriyuki's mood has also changed. He no longer wishes to die gloriously in battle and instead wants to see his unit become a success.
Support:
The Battalion can muster enough support to meet 50% of the unit's needs. The administrative and medical support situations are much better. The Gray Wolf Battalion lacks interstellar transport.
Dragoons Rating: D
Gray Wolf Battalion
