Unlike Hand Puppet which has been constantly changing as I write it, and Death Sentence, which I probably won't finish because it was at most a rough idea when I started on it, A New Life has a definite beginning and end. I can say for certain there will only be 2 more posts after this one, and I already know exactly what's going to happen in them. In fact, I wrote the third post immediately after completing the 2nd post, and in fact that's when I posted it up here. I delayed posting it to the MUD however, for RPP reasons. This RP is mostly to explain the changes that occur with the reinc, sort of as an aid for people who want to do IC with me. It's also a parallel to my own actions which required me to leave the guild, and Urth's emotions mirror mine. His attempts to help others which fail in the end, a frustrated attempt to fix things that only makes things worse (As another prominent Hand put, I can be described as a suicide bomber. What I did may have helped the guild, or it may have just destroyed everything, and no matter how you look at it, I'm f**ked), mistakes that make me feel that even should everything change and I could join the guild again, I can't because I've disgraced myself and can no longer show my face around there, and finally a change in lifestyle, which, while the best for everyone else, just leaves me with the knowledge that I'm no longer what I wanted to be.

After talking to some people in the MUD, I'm glad to see that for the most part everyone's able to notice what the deal is with the colored/italicized parts of the post. For anyone who doesn't notice, they're different times, with the white or normal text signifying present day, what Urth has been up to since the reinc and building up to the point in time where IC RPs will start. The gray or italicized parts are in the past, and show the story of WHY he had to reincarnate in the first place. As anyone can tell, the parts in the past have considerably more detail and length than the parts in the present. This is mostly because the parts in the past are more, well, important. The parts happening in the past are what determined the length of the RP, and the individual details are each important to his future history: In the first post he receives a vision from Cyllyl, which acts as a warning and guides his actions. In the second post, it shows one of the various way that he chooses to indulge in pleasure at the risk of the guild, and introduces Eve. The third post shows how his actions have caused him to betray the guild, and although nobody but himself or Cyllyl knows about it, it still gives him guilt about his actions, prompting him to not want to show his face around there anymore. The 4th shows that while the reinc does wind up being done in secret (As far as all the Hands, and especially his students, know, he just left on a trip one day and never came back), his behavior does let the others know that something is wrong. As for the other 2 that are yet to be written, the 5th post has him trying to fix things at the expense of himself, and the 6th post is the ending.

The present day posts on the other hand, a few were tossed in to match the length of the past posts. The only important details that need to be known is that he started a new life a a vulpin mage, breezed through his classes, and became a rather eccentric pyromancer. It also is meant to show what sort of person he's become in the meantime. He's obsessed with the past, as the later markings he applies to himself and the chains he wears shows, but at the same time he's violently adamant against anyone asking about it. He's constantly reminded of the sacrifice he had to make for the good of the guild, and how the best thing for everyone is if the arakun he used to be was forgotten, and all ties to the guild severed. For the most part, he strives to avoid people's attention... or at the very least, make sure nobody asks about him, but if anyone does he has a fair number of alibis.

Yeah, about post #5... I've been playing a lot of Assassin's Creed lately.

There, for the first time I've actually completed an RP I started. I realize the reasons given for why he reinced are a little half-assed, but it's the best I can come up with. I hope to start doing plenty of IC soon, and hopefully the people I RP with regularly read RP, or at least this story.
