Yoinked this to a new thread, since it no longer revolves around the Golden Boar. Sorry Catrina, if you could repost your post here? I should have done this earlier. -------------------------------------------------------------- Thalgor finished up his fish stew, licking his lips in appreciation. He slides a couple of coins under the plate, catches the eye of the barman, and walks out of the Restaurant. "If I were a Sentinel Guild, where would I be?" he muses as he walks down the street. "Ah yes", he murmurs, turning a corner and spotting the sigh for the guild. He steps through the door and to the side, giving himself a moment to look about the place. Nodding, he walks up to one of the front desks, and speaks to the human female sitting there "Greetings and salutations, good lady. I was hoping to speak to one of your fine upstanding officers regarding an ongoing investigation." The secretary, without looking up, replies in a nasal tone "Take a ticket, and wait in the lobby. One of our officers will be out to speak to you." Thalgor glances from the woman to the ticket dispenser, and grins wryly. Taking a ticket, he walks to a chair, muttering "Bureaucracy. Some things never change."

Catrina put down her pen and rolled up the final scroll. She then closed her eyes and rubbed the bridge of her muzzle. Goddess, she was beginning to believe that as the rank and file Sents helped cut back the crime rate, the higher-ups dreamed up more forms to fill out per crime!
She stood and stretched, working the kinks out of her back and tail. She then went out and looked about the waiting room to see if there were any people around.

Thalgor looked up, recognising the feline from the Golden Boar earlier. This time, he gave her more consideration, looking her up and down before she noticed him. "Not a bad looker, if I do say so myself. Although she'd no doubt scratch my eyes out if I said that", he thought to himself as he catches her gaze.

Catrina spotted the human, recognizing him as the one she had passed when leaving the Golden Boar earlier. She giggled to herself, fantasizing for a moment that he had intentionally followed her here She then dismisses that thought, and approached the bench he sat upon. She bent down in front of him so she could look him in the eye.
'Good evening, sir! Is there anything I could do for you?'

Thalgor hmms to himself, resisting the urge to stare at the things her uniform were not doing a good job of concealing. He glances, instead of staring. A real gentleman, he is! Grinning wryly, he looks the cat lady in the eye. "I'm here regarding an ongoing investigation. You might not be familar with it. It's regarding Dry Wolf Village."
OOC: Dry Wolf Village was a small village on the plains of Wysoom. It was destroyed in the somewhat typical fashion, with only two survivors, Thalgor being one. Being that it wasn't of any particular import, no-one else would likely know of it, unless they had a particular interest in geography.

Catrina grinned as she watched the human trying to avoid staring at her. she hadn't meant anything by leaving her armor loose, she just liked loosening it when not in combat to allow better ventilation. Also, with the oncoming litter her bosom had grown, swelling with milk meant to feed the kittens when they were born, and there wasn't a merchie in the Retroverse that felt comfortable hearing that resize request!
She moved a little as she considered his request, letting those mounds swing for her audience's enjoyment. She then stood up and addressed him: 'I don't know myself about the case. Let me ask around and see if anyone else can help me'
She then set off to see if any of the higher ups might know about this case

Catrina returned in a few moments, a perplexed look on her face and an annoyed twitch in her tail. She sat down on the bench next to the human,m not seeming to care that this action caused her body to rub against his provocatively. She then smiled and looked at him before speaking:
'I'm sorry sir, I can't seem to find anyone who knows the details of your case. Perhaps you could fill me in?'

Thalgor sighs, looking disappointed. "Makes sense, I guess. It wasn't a big tragedy, except for those involved.. friends, family... that sort of thing. Anyway, the short version is that Dry Wolf Village was where I was started life. When I was, hmm, well, old enough that I thought girls were interesting," here he glances again at Catrina's obvious mammary assets. "Well, anyway, I was out of the village, with one of village girls, erm, collecting firewood, when we heard commotion from the village. We ran back, but hid before coming out of the woods. Good thing we did, because... well, every-one was killed. We saw a man leave, armour drenched in blood and gore... I'm trying to find him. Make him pay for my family..." He sits a moment, then sighs. "But, this sort of thing happens all the time, I guess. Villages massacred, children left homeless. Not much reason for the sent guild to keep track, I suppose."

Catrina listened to the man's story with a mixture of shock and whimsy. On the one hand she could not understand why anyone would be driven to commit such an abominable act as to massacre an entire village. On the other she could not help but smile as the danced around the reason He and the 'village girl' had been out of the village. She remembered once when she had taken one of her village's boys into the tall grasses that grew nearby. There they had explored each other's bodies and, by the time they returned, neither was a child anymore.
Catrina found that she had taken the man's hand during his story. She blushed and stroked it, smiling at him.
'I am sorry to hear of your loss. The reason I could not find out anything is that none of the Sentinels in the Guild hall at the moment were around at the time of your case. I could ask Gilgal, perhaps, but the door to his office is closed, and it takes a special kind of crazy to enter his lair at these times. Schrau, Seijerou or even Carnely could help us, if you'd like to wait a bit.' She smiled at him.
'By the way, my name's Catrina. What's yours?'

Thalgor chuckles "Oh, I'm Thalgor, and its a pleasure to meet you." He leans back on the bench, but not moving his hand out from under Catrina's. "All I really want to know is if there has been any new ideas about who it could be. I figure it was an up-and-coming Fallen Guild member... who else would do such a thing? Massacre a village, show your loyalty, that sort of thing." Here he shrugs, ruefully. "I sure can't take on the entire Fallen Guild, and they don't stay dead, anyway. But, actually," he perks up, "that would mean I could kill them over and over again, once for each person they've killed." Then he remembers he is sitting in the hall of the Sentinel Guild, next to a lady his male instincts compel him to try and impress. "Not that I'd do such a thing until I was sure it was the right person, of course!"

'Thalgor, that's a nice name.'
Catrina settled into thought, continuing to stroke Tha\lgor's hand gently. She smiled at his bit of swagger, trying to impress her. For a moment, she revisited that patch of tall grass, substituting a rugged looking human for her lanky tom...,
And then it struck her! An answer to his problem!
'Thalgor, I may not have a solution to your case, but I think I have a solution to your problem. If a Fallen is responsible for the massacre at your village ( and I agree with you that that this probably so) then the one ultimately responsible for the deed is the Nameless One himself, since he supposedly parceled his soul into the Fellblades they carry. Any Fallen you kill, therefore, can be seen as part of your revenge against the person responsible for the massacre!'

Thalgor sat up, struck by this idea. "The Nameless One.. hmm.. I can't kill the Nameless One, but I can hurt him by killing his minions over and over and over again... this has potential." He then looks about him, at the Sentinal Guild, with the various do-gooders going about their tasks. "And to do that, I need to join the Sentinel Guild, right? Otherwise I'm just another law-breaker?" He glances down at his hand, under Catrina's, "although, that wouldn't be all bad. The company would be... scenic" he quips, shooting a grin at Catrina.

Catrina blushed and averted her eyes, smiling. The idea of sharing the Guild with this human was...appealing. For a fleeting moment she considered working with him at her side, solving cases together, showing him some of the more 'private' places in the guild hall....
She shook her head. 'Thalgor, dear, although I would love to work by your side as a Sentinel, there is something you must know. This guild is dedicated to the idea that all citizens of the Retroverse are entitled to the full protection of the law...even Fallen. There will be times when you will have to assist people who you would rather see as the centerpiece of a funeral.
Also, the Sentinels are a pretty eclectic group of people. We have members of many different guilds that have also chosen to devote part of their time to keeping order around here. We even have a Sentinel who has gone on to become a Fallen!'
She smiled. 'Personally, I think that you would do better as a Templar or Paladin. That would also take care of the 'law-breaker' problem. We understand that there is a a war on between the forces of Good and Evil, and we tend to give leeway in such cases, unless innocents are endangered. Then we come down hard no matter who does it!'

Thalgor gives a short, bitter laugh. "Templar? Paladin? Holier-then-thou righteous arrogant pi... people who are more interested in notching a win in their Good versus Evil fight then the people caught in the middle? I don't think so. They don't want justice, they want victory!"
Thalgor catches himself, and looks embarrased, turning slightly red. "Err, sorry about that, I didn't mean to rant. I've just had poor experiences with that type before."
Thalgor stands up suddenly, and looks around the room, embarrassed and at a loss for words, his hands playing with his leather belt.

Catrina leaped to her feet. She hadn't meant to upset him, she thought she was giving good advice! 'Please, Thalgor! Don't leave!' She went to take his hands and found his belt as well. The reaction was as if the belt was imbued with magical energy, she jerked her hands back as if shocked!
What was wrong with her? She had teased men before, even cases in the Guild were not proof from her playfulness, but Thalgor made her nervous as a kitten in her first heat! She took his hands again, lightly, and looked into his eyes.
'Thalgor, if justice is truly what you seek, then perhaps the Sentinels is the place for you to seek it. I would--' Suddenly she was unable to look him directly in the eye. She blushed deeply and averted her glance.
'I would be honored to have you by my side as a Sentinel.'
